Hilton Head High’s boys lacrosse team blanked rival Bluffton 18-0 on Wednesday.
Nine players registered points for the Seahawks with Whit Molloy (6G, 2A) and Max Boyer (3G, 4A) leading the way. Matt Maldonado (3G, 1A), Kyle Kirkpatrick (2G), Will Frith (1G, 1A), and Rakeem Riley (1G, 1A) also tallied multiple points, and Frith was 8-for-8 on faceoffs.
Josh Hiers and Drew Schlesener combined for the shutout between the pipes with defensemen Luke Fromdahl, Garrison Geoffroy, Cole Benson, Nick Magnin, and Ethan Fornari leading the defensive effort.
“We did a number of things well tonight,” HHIHS coach Will Callegari said. “I thought some of our man-up looks were excellent, and we are continuing to share the ball offensively. Bluffton is a good program and fought the entire way. As always, we still have a long way to go before we get to where we want to be as a program, but this was another step in the right direction.”
The Seahawks (2-0, 1-0) will travel to Jacksonville this weekend to take on Creekside on Friday and Mandarin on Saturday. The Bobcats (0-3) travel to Beaufort High on Wednesday.
