Evan Hayes booted a 32-yard field goal as time expired — his third field goal of the night — to lift Bluffton to a 16-14 win at Hanahan on Friday.
The Bobcats trailed 7-3 at halftime but took the lead on Kylan Simmons’ rushing touchdown in the third quarter. Hayes’ second field goal made it 13-7, but the Hawks scored with about a minute remaining to take a 14-13 lead.
Bluffton marched down the field to give Hayes a chance to win it in the final seconds, and he came through with the game-winning kick to give the Bobcats their second consecutive win.
Bluffton (2-2) hosts Hartsville, the top-ranked team in Class 4A, next Friday.
