HSFB: The RBC Heritage Player of the Week for Week 3 is …

It was a high-flying time in the voting for the RBC Heritage High School Football Player of the Week for Week 3.

They turned out the vote in a major way north of the Broad River this week, as Beaufort Academy’s De’Shaun Epps (35.9 percent) edged Beaufort High’s James Dagin (27.8 percent) for the fan vote in a battle of Eagles.

But it was a Seahawk — and appropriately one who took to the air often — who picked up all four votes from our panel to take home the honor. After passing for 371 yards and three touchdowns in a 27-6 win at Battery Creek on Friday, Hilton Head High quarterback Gaston Moore is the RBC Heritage Player of the Week.

Moore and the Seahawks will go up against last week’s winner, May River running back Brandon Morales, in a matchup of unbeaten teams on Friday. Will next week’s winner emerge from that game? We’ll find out next week.
