Hilton Head Christian Academy’s boys’ soccer team will get to defend its state title one more time.
Carson Webster scored the game-winner in the 74th minute Saturday, lifting the Eagles to a 3-2 win over Oakbrook Prep for HHCA’s second consecutive SCISA 2A state championship.
Oakbrook took an early lead when an Eagles foul inside the penalty box led to Adam West’s penalty kick in the 11th minute.
It remained 1-0 until the 52nd minute, when HHCA’s Clay Corkern scored on a 30-yard blast to tie it. Evan Berkner added a penalty kick three minutes later to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead, but Oakbrook’s Alexander Menzel punched in a rebound in the 62nd minute for the equalizer.
Then Webster cracked a shot from 20 yards off a throw-in from Alex Nasiadka to deliver the game-winner.
