Hunter Eldridge drove in both runs for Bluffton to lead the Bobcats to a 2-1 win at Hilton Head High on Wednesday.
The Seahawks struck first on Matt Mebane’s RBI single in the first inning, but that was all the offense they could muster. Eldridge tied it with an RBI double in the third and gave the Bobcats the lead with a sacrifice fly in the fifth.
Mason Peeples struck out five over six innings and allowed one unearned run on five hits with two walks to earn the win, and Griffin Yeager worked around a pair of hits in a scoreless seventh to earn the save.
JR Richardson threw a complete game for the Seahawks, allowing two runs (one earned) and seven hits while striking out four.
The Bobcats (13-6) open a three-game region series against Battery Creek with a home game at 7 p.m. Monday. The Seahawks (8-9) travel to Colleton County for a region game at 6 p.m. Friday.
