Reggie Jones Jr. swept the two hurdles races and claimed two runner-up finishes to lead the Beaufort High boys to a third-place finish Saturday at the Cane Bay Invitational.
Beaufort’s boys finished with 86 points, behind Wando (126) and Summerville (93). Whale Branch was 13th with 11 points, and Battery Creek tied for 16th with seven points.
Jones won the 110-meter hurdles (15.69) and the 400 hurdles (56.74), finished second in the pole vault (12-6), and helped the Eagles to a second-place finish in the 4×400 relay (3:28.17). Kenneth Williams won the high jump (6-2), and Desmond Gaillard won the triple jump (44-4)
Beaufort’s girls finished fourth with 57 points, trailing Wando (160.5), Woodland (83.5), and Summerville (66). Whale Branch tied for 15th with eight points, and Battery Creek was 17th with six points.
Keyasha Brown was the top point-scorer for the Eagles, finishing second in the 100-meter hurdles (16.41) and seventh in the triple jump (32-11). Reyonce Black was third in the 100 meters (12.92) and sixth in the 200 (27.16).
