Hilton Head High baseball’s late rally fell short in a 4-2 loss to visiting Cane Bay on Tuesday.
The Seahawks scored two runs in the seventh inning and had the tying run on base before the Cobras closed it out. JJ Mlodzinski and Stratton Pollitzer drove in runs for Hilton Head.
JR Richardson was tagged with the loss on the mound, allowing four runs and four hits over 4 2/3 innings with three strikeouts.
The Seahawks (5-6, 3-5) play a non-region game at Battery Creek at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
