Owen Latchford made 27 saves and James Wallace scored the game-winning goal in overtime to give Bluffton boys’ lacrosse a 5-4 win over Beaufort High on Friday.
Reggie Brown and Gene Hamilton scored two goals apiece for the Bobcats, who led 4-0 before Beaufort stormed back in the fourth quarter to force overtime.
Bobby Gecy scored two goals and Connor Sackman and Ethan McKenzie added a goal apiece for the Eagles.
Beaufort goalie Bryce Hage kept his team in the game with several key stops, but Wallace’s score in with 36 seconds remaining in the first overtime period lifted the visiting Bobcats to the win.
Bluffton (2-8, 1-5) travels to rival May River at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Beaufort (1-8, 1-4) hosts Savannah Lacrosse Club at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
