Beaufort High’s baseball team opened the regular season with a 4-1 win over visiting Bluffton on Monday.
Ethan Graham struck out five and limited the Bobcats to two hits over six innings to earn the win.
Drew Luckey was 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs, and Jeffrey Smyth was 2-for-3 with a double to lead the Eagles at the plate.
Hunter Eldridge went 1-for-3 with an double and drove in the lone run for the Bobcats. Noah Simenson took the loss on the mound, allowing four runs and 10 hits over 4 2/3 innings with six strikeouts.
The Eagles host Stall for a Region 8-4A matchup at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Bobcats travel to Whale Branch at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
