HS Lax: Sackman Scores In OT To Give Beaufort Boys First Win

Connor Sackman’s goal in overtime lifted the Beaufort High boys’ lacrosse team to the first win in the program’s brief history Wednesday.

Sackman’s game-winner off an assist from Ethan McKenzie gave the Eagles a 3-2 win over Bluffton. McKenzie scored both of Beaufort’s goals in regulation with Sackman assisting on one.

Beaufort goalkeeper Bryce Hage made nine saves in the defensive struggle, as the Eagles’ defense forced the Bluffton attack into numerous turnovers and picked up several momentum-changing ground balls.

The Eagles (1-2) play at Waccamaw at noon Saturday. The Bobcats (1-3) travel to Hilton Head High on Wednesday.
