Hilton Head High’s boys’ lacrosse team posted another dominant victory Wednesday, beating visiting James Island 17-2.
The Seahawks have outscored their first three opponents 49-7.
Whit Molloy led the Seahawks’ attack with six goals and an assist, while Will Frith and Chaz Renaud each added three goals and an assist. Max Boyer scored two goals and added two assists, Jake Rader had a goal and three assists, Kyle Kirkpatrick scored twice, and Reed Parker added an assist.
Colin Courtney (12 ground balls) and Chris Valentino (four saves) led the defensive effort, and Frith was 11-for-11 on face-offs and scooped 11 ground balls.
“We did a lot of good things tonight to improve from last week’s game, but we still need to do a better job clearing the ball under pressure, and we absolutely must keep improving on our fundamentals,” Seahawks coach Will Callegari said. “We challenged our boys to come out and play at a high tempo for four quarters tonight, something I felt we had not done consistently this year, and they rose to the occasion.”
The Seahawks (3-0) face their toughest test thus far Saturday, hosting state power Wando at noon.
