Low Country Volleyball Club’s 15 National team bounced back from losing its first match to claim first place in the 15 Power division at the USAV Palmetto Region January Jam in Charleston over the weekend.
The team dropped a tough 2-1 match in its opener before coming back to win six straight without losing a set, beating teams from Augusta and Charleston en route to the championship.
The team is coached by Priscilla Kelly and Aaron Johnson and has players from seven area schools — Abby Puplava (May River); Ashley Wilmot (Hilton Head Prep); Ady O’Grady (Hilton Head Christian Academy), Marissa Majorkiewicz (John Paul II); Brooke Simons (Hilton Head High); Ana Thaller (St. Vincent’s); and Kate Booth, Makenna Mason, Sarah Ramirez-Cardona and Kenzie Ryan (St. Francis).
