For the second time this season, former Hilton Head Christian Academy star Macee Tamminen has been named the Big South Freshman of the Week for women’s basketball.
Tamminen was selected for the honor Monday after averaging 13.5 points, 1.5 steals and one assist in two games for Presbyterian last week.
A freshman guard, Tamminen scored a career-high 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting in the Blue Hose’s 72-69 home win over Gardner-Webb on Tuesday, hitting four 3-pointers. She followed it up with nine points – on three 3-pointers – in a 93-55 loss at Radford on Saturday.
Tamminen has been Presbyterian’s most productive player off the bench of late, averaging 10.9 points and shooting 42 percent from 3-point range over the past seven games.
