Week 9 was a tough one for a few area teams’ region title hopes, and it delivered another heart-breaking loss for Hilton Head Island High School.

But local teams also claimed a couple of huge wins, and there were some outstanding individual performances in losing efforts, resulting in another strong RBC Heritage High School Football Player of the Week ballot.

• Zack Doe, JP2: 234 rush yards, 3 TDs in 30-12 win at The King’s Academy

• Hunter Eldridge, BLHS: 307 passing yards, 3 TDs in 35-25 loss to Wade Hampton

• Jordan Gwyn, BCHS: 179 passing yards, 3 TDs; 57 rush yards, TD in 44-18 win at Ridgeland-Hardeeville

• Trae Heyward, BHS: 6 receptions, 113 yards in 23-14 loss to Berkeley

• Zacheus Magwood, BCHS: 104 rush yards, TD in 44-18 win at Ridgeland-Hardeeville

• Irvin Mulligan, WBECHS: 118 rush yards, 3 TDs in 49-0 win at Academic Magnet

• Bobby Payne, THA: 92 scrimmage yards, 2 TDs; PR-TD in 37-0 win over Dorchester Academy

• Diante Richard, HHIHS: 7 receptions, 63 yards, 2 TDs; rush TD in 41-35 loss to Colleton County

• Jabari Williams, RHHS: 3 TDs in 44-18 loss to Battery Creek
