HS Swimming: Geist Wins Two Events To Lead HHIHS In 4A State Meet

The Hilton Head Island High School boys finished fourth and the girls placed eighth at the SCHSL Class 4A State Swimming Championships on Saturday in Columbia.

Kevin Geist won individual titles in the 200 free and the 100 fly, and Cohen Bruner was third in the 100 free and fifth in the 50 free to lead. The duo teamed with Tommy Hughson and Niklas Kronlein to place fourth in the 400 free relay and fifth in the 200 free relay, and Hughson was fourth in the 500 free.

On the girls side, Meaghan Lyons led the Seahawks, placing second in the 100 breast and third in the 200 IM, and teaming with Isabella Pozos, Camila Pelt, and Mandi Montgomery to place fifth in the 400 free relay.

Beaufort High School’s boys placed 16th and the Eagles’ girls were 18th in the team standings.
