HSFB ’24: Lowco First Down (Week 6)

Weird week, huh? We planned on a full slate of high school football games Friday and ended up picking up the pieces from a storm that shook us a bit but devastated others. But we managed to sneak in six high school football games over a six-day span amongst the chaos, and here’s everything you need to know from Week 6 in Lowco First Down.

WEDNESDAY’S GAMES

SCHSL

Stratford 41, Colleton Co. 14

The Cougars couldn’t contain Stratford receiver J’qwan Crosby, who snagged six passes for 173 yards and three touchdowns as Jachin Davis’ favorite target and sent the Cougars to a home loss. Davis was 11-of-14 for 253 yards and four TDs and staked the Knights to a 34-14 halftime lead. Sean Williams threw a long touchdown pass and Kenari Koger added a rushing TD for the Cougars.

Up next: Colleton Co. (1-4) vs. May River (10/4)

SCISA

Jefferson Davis 70, Cross Schools 12

The Raiders’ powerful run game rolled over the Stingrays to the tune of 413 yards in a lopsided 8-man contest, bringing Cross back to reality a week after earning its first win. Nasir Void had 123 yards and four TDs, while Dalton Nix added 133 yards and two scores, and James Grubbs tacked on 110 yards and a TD to lead JDA.

MONDAY’S GAMES
