South Carolina commit Reagan Marchant finished a double shy of the cycle and drove in four runs, and Jayden Lopko matched her with three hits and four RBIs as Hilton Head High softball routed Battery Creek 14-2 on the road Tuesday for the Seahawks’ seventh straight win.
Marchant opened the scoring with an RBI triple in the top of the first, singled and scored in the fourth, and blasted a three-run homer in the fifth to bring the run-rule into play before the Seahawks closed it out early in the bottom half. Lopko sparked the Seahawks’ five-run third with an RBI double, the first of four straight run-scoring hits in the inning.
Shaina Lugo went the distance in the circle for the Seahawks, striking out eight and walking two while allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits to earn her fourth win of the season.
