HSBBB: Foul trouble can’t derail Dolphins vs. HHCA

Hilton Head Prep boys basketball overcame foul trouble to down its former cross-island rivals Friday, beating visiting Hilton Head Christian Academy 50-36 at home.

JJ Hayes delivered the hot hand for the Dolphins early on, draining three triples in just the first quarter to race his team out to a 17-10 lead before swelling the margin to 33-14 at halftime. A strong third-quarter effort from Hilton Head Christian brought the lead down to 15, but the Dolphins worked hard on defense down the stretch to close out their 13th consecutive win.
