Hilton Head Prep girls basketball ran its winning streak to five games with a 52-40 home win over Savannah Country Day on Saturday.
Despite having only six players available and playing without senior defensive stopper Ella Clark, the Dolphins were in control from the start, leading by eight after a quarter and extending it to 13 at halftime before holding the Hornets at bay the rest of the way.
Courtney Campbell scored 21 points to lead the charge for HHP, while Katie Campbell added 11, Haylee Hopman had eight, and Annie Braun and Emma Moore kicked in six apiece. Kathryn Johnson scored 15 points to lead the Hornets.
“Defend, rebound, and run,” HHP coach Phil Hartman said. “It’s a simple game plan but it works and allowed us to pick up a win over a very good Savannah Country Day team. I am proud of the girls. They all stepped up and made plays.”
HHP (11-5, 2-2) returns to region play Tuesday at Holy Trinity.
