Battery Creek girls basketball continued its strong play Saturday afternoon inside the Palace, running its win streak to three with a convincing 55-25 victory over Region 8-3A rival North Charleston.
Kiara Wilson posted double figures for the third consecutive game with 16 points, and Ashante Shaw collected another double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Dolphins, while freshman Genesis Wilson collected 11 points and four rebounds, and Sophia Felix posted eight points.

The Dolphins started off strong, as Felix drained a 7-foot floater to give Creek the first basket of the night. She added to her first quarter total by connecting on a 3-ball from the wing, and Kiara Wilson knocked down two from inside the paint while adding three more points from the charity stripe. Creek’s defense locked down the Cougars, allowing just five points in the first eight minutes.
North Charleston came out strong in the second period, scoring on the first three possessions, as Taja Porcher drove to the basket on all three scores, splitting the Dolphin defense. But Creek’s Armani Hutchinson came off the bench to start the period and immediately became a force on the glass, picking up eight rebounds and scoring four points. The Cougars’ offense struggled the remainder of the half, Creek went to halftime up 25-16.
After NCHS battled back in the second quarter, the Dolphins dominated the third frame defensively, only allowing one point while four Dolphins combined for 20 points in the period. Genesis Wilson connected on two triples while Shaw scored six and picked up eight boards.
The Dolphins took a 28-point lead into the final quarter and maintained the strong defense, keeping the Cougars in single digits for the second consecutive quarter. Creek added 10 more points to finish the game and keep pace in the race for second in the region.
Battery Creek (9-10, 5-2) travels to Bishop England on Tuesday for a matchup between the top teams in the region.
