Colleton County boys basketball overcame an eight-point deficit in the fourth quarter to earn its first Region 7-4A win Friday, edging Bluffton 57-55 on the road.

The Bobcats got out to a quick start and led by six after the first quarter, but the Cougars clawed within 23-21 at halftime. Bluffton pushed the lead back to eight going to the fourth, but Colleton erupted for 24 points in the final period to escape with a hard-fought road win.
Deshaun Blocker led a balanced Cougars offense with 14 points, while Brian Hamilton added 11, Mykeem Gant had nine, and Adam Buckner and Dashawn McNeil scored eight each.
Bluffton’s Jaylin Linder had a game-high 16 points, with Nic Yanez adding 12 and Khalyl Chaplin chipping in 10.
Colleton County (5-7, 1-3) hosts James Island for a region matchup Tuesday, while Bluffton (3-8, 0-3) is back in action at home Saturday with a non-region game against Battery Creek.
