A banged-up Bridges Prep boys basketball team suffered its second region loss in two nights Wednesday, falling 65-62 to visiting Bamberg-Ehrhardt.
With key players Desmond Locke, Tony Jones, and Jeremiah Ponder out of the lineup due to illness or injury, the Bucs went toe-to-toe with the Red Raiders all night. Bamberg led by two after a quarter and extended the margin to 29-23 by halftime, but Bridges dug in and pulled back within a bucket going to the fourth, but the Bucs couldn’t get over the hump down the stretch.
Damien Bee posted another stellar line for Bridges with 22 points, nine assists, nine rebounds, and five steals, and Davion Washington added 17 points and 10 boards after leaving the previous night’s game with a back injury. JV callup Camen Arroyo contributed 10 points and five boards, and Matthew Torres added nine points.
Bridges (11-4) hosts Branchville for another region matchup Friday.
