HSGBB: HHCA breezes through 2nd step in Georgia gauntlet

Hilton Head Christian Academy girls basketball finished off a strong week against tough Georgia competition with a 56-34 win over visiting Richmond Hill on Thursday.

Abby Peduzzi led a balanced HHCA effort with 18 points and Tamya Hutchinson added 16 as the Eagles breezed past the Georgia Class 6A Wildcats. 

HHCA led 13-6 after a scrappy first quarter and opened up a 28-13 halftime advantage. The Eagles turned it on and extended the margin to 46-20 with a dominant third quarter and coasted to the easy victory.

Devon Yarde added 11 points, and Skylar Smith splashed a trio of 3-pointers for the Eagles. 

HHCA (6-1) travels to Calvary Day on Monday before beginning region play at home Tuesday against Colleton Prep.
