Colleton County girls basketball was no match for a strong Class 5A Stall squad in the championship game of the Cougar Classic on Wednesday, as the Warriors rolled to a 70-43 victory to claim the tourney title.

Led by tournament MVP Darnaishia Goss’s 17 points and 15 rebounds, the Warriors jumped out to a 20-2 lead after one quarter before the Cougars found their rhythm on offense and outscored Stall by one in the second quarter.
Talasha Walker added 17 points and six boards for the Warriors, while fellow all-tourney team member Jadein Haynes collected 15 points, six rebounds, and five assists, and Makayla Waiters contributed 12 points and eight assists.
Makayla Chisolm scored 14 points, while all-tournament team honoree Makayla Brown added 12, and Bethany Monroe scored eight.
The Cougars (8-5) resume region play at home against Hilton Head High on Jan. 4.
