HSGBB: Bobcats rally past Red Devils to stay perfect

Bluffton girls basketball pulled off a late rally on the road to stay perfect Saturday, topping Wade Hampton 43-41 behind 16 points from Tacoya Heyward.

The Bobcats grabbed a 7-6 lead after one quarter, but Wade Hampton found its offense in the second to post a 22-point quarter and go into halftime up 28-21.

Katie Rodney splashed a pair of three-pointers to keep up with the Red Devils heading into the fourth, and Bluffton’s defense took over down the stretch to overcome a seven-point deficit for a terrific comeback win.

Heyward was sensational on both ends of the court, leading all scorers with 16 points. Rodney put up 11 points with a pair of triples, and Jaalina Mosley added eight.

Bluffton (7-0, 2-0) returns to action on Dec. 28 in a tournament matchup with Northwestern.
