Hilton Head High boys basketball couldn’t overcome an icy start Saturday in Savannah, falling 43-28 at Benedictine.

The Seahawks couldn’t find the bucket early on, managing only two points in the first quarter as the Cadets opened up a quick 10-point lead. Hilton Head dug in and kept it close, trailing 18-13 at halftime and 29-21 after three quarters, but the Seahawks couldn’t close the gap.
Alex Smith scored seven points, and Matthew Larkby and Jayden Gilliam each had six for HHIHS. Benedictine’s Christiaan Neeley scored a game-high 22 points.
The Seahawks (4-3) open Region 7-4A play at home against Lucy Beckham on Tuesday.
