Five Lowco teams entered, and four remain after the second round of the high school football playoffs.
Beaufort High and Whale Branch picked up big road wins in the SCHSL second round, and Hilton Head Christian Academy and Thomas Heyward Academy earned the chance to defend their SCISA titles, while Beaufort Academy’s bid for a rematch with HHCA came up short.

SCSHL CLASS 4A SECOND ROUND
Beaufort High 42, North Augusta 10: Amariee Morris rushed for three touchdowns and Tyler Haley added a pair of TD runs, and Jalin Porter’s pick-six highlighted another dominant defensive effort as the Eagles soared into a rematch with top-ranked Myrtle Beach in the third round.
SCSHL CLASS 1A SECOND ROUND
Whale Branch 27, Lake View 12: Joseph Hicks rushed for one score and caught a TD pass from Kai’Shawn Jenkins, and Darrell Cummings and Jakhi Pusha added TD runs to propel the Warriors into the third round for the first time since 2015. Whale Branch will travel to C.E. Murray in the Lower State semifinals.
SCISA CLASS 2A SEMIFINALS
Hilton Head Christian 52, Pee Dee Academy 23: Jace Blackshear threw touchdown passes to four different receivers, Speedy Robinson added two rushing TDs to go with his touchdown grab, and Jackson Lanier scored on the ground and through the air as the Eagles overcame a one-point halftime deficit to earn a shot at a second straight state title next week against Williamsburg Academy.
Williamsburg Academy 28, Beaufort Academy 7: The Eagles took an early lead on the road on Braydon Dineen’s TD pass to Jaxen Porter, but the Stallions scored 28 unanswered points to remain undefeated and advance to a showdown with Hilton Head Christian in next week’s championship game.
SCISA CLASS 1A SEMIFINALS
Thomas Heyward 49, Thomas Sumter 9: Tyshon Mansell threw three TD passes and seven different players found the end zone for the Rebels, who rolled to a big home win to earn a shot at their fourth consecutive SCISA 1A title next week. THA will face Lee Academy in a rematch of last year’s state championship game.
