May River girls tennis opened its season with a 5-1 win over crosstown rival Bluffton on Tuesday.
The Sharks won four of the five singles matches and took the doubles court, with Ellory Pruitt earning Bluffton’s only point at No. 3 singles. May River’s Molly Dierker outlasted Taylor Welch in the only three-set match of the afternoon.
May River (1-0) hosts John Paul II on Thursday, while Bluffton (1-3) travels to Beaufort Academy on Monday.
