Bluffton baseball couldn’t recover from a seven-run first-inning deficit in its season finale Saturday, dropping a 13-2 home contest to Oceanside Collegiate.
The Landsharks jumped out to a 7-0 lead after a big first, and Bluffton responded quickly with a two-run second thanks to a line drive single from Eric Eastham scoring Jackson Arseneau and Cody Bradt. But Oceanside Collegiate didn’t let it get any closer, scoring six unanswered runs to secure the victory.
Bradt delivered a fantastic game for the Bobcats, going 2-for-3 with a double and scoring a run while Eastham was 1-for-3 with a pair of RBIs. Cameron Poliquin was fantastic on the mound in relief, throwing 6 1-3 innings and allowing just two earned runs while striking out three batters.
Bluffton (5-11, 1-9) has concluded its season.
