Micaelann Gies and Katie Shrewsbury each recorded hat tricks to lead Bluffton girls soccer to an 8-0 road win at Colleton County on Friday.
Gies also added two assists, and Gwenna Townsend had a goal and two assists for the Bobcats. Anna Parrott also scored, and Cassandra Gray dished out an assist.
The Bobcats were in control from the start, as Townsend found the back of the net in the opening minute and Gies and Shrewsbury each added two goals before halftime in a dominant performance.

Bluffton’s defense was up to the task all night, keeping the Cougars from holding possession and creating quality scoring chances. Fiorella Munguia and Haylie Star split time in goal to record the clean sheet.
“Overall, a nice win over a depleted Colleton County team,” Bluffton coach Brian McCarthy said. “I commend the Lady Cougars for fighting to the final whistle.”
The Bobcats (7-3, 6-3) face a tough back-to-back next week with road games at James Island on Monday and Beaufort High on Tuesday.
The Cougars (2-5, 0-5) travel to Beaufort on Monday.
