HS BTEN: Eagles ease past Cougars, stay perfect in region

Beaufort High boys tennis gave some of its top players a day off from a busy slate this week but still came away with a 5-1 win at Colleton County on Thursday.

Beaufort coach Dave Riedmayer gave top singles player Graeme Angus the day off, and the Cougars took advantage, as Adam Buckner earned Colleton’s only win at No. 1 singles.

The rest of the Eagles’ lineup dominated, though, as Griffin Stone, Joseph Combs, Witt Compton, and Walker Perryman all swept to straight-sets wins, and Casey Hoogenboom and Charlie Bowden easily won their doubles match.

The Eagles (10-2, 10-0) continue their busy slate with a region match at home against Lucy Beckham on Saturday.
