HS GSOC: Louw stars for Eagles in shutout of Bengals

Beaufort High girls soccer dueled high winds and a 15-minute delay when the lights went out late in the game to hold on for a 1-0 win at Lucy Beckham on Wednesday.

Caroline Louw scored the game’s only goal late in the first half, converting a beautiful corner from Trinity Jones, and Beaufort’s defense and keeper Quinn Wilson took care of the rest.

The back line of Louw, Anna Brown, Lexi Jones, and Payton Mullen frustrated the Bengals all night, and when Beckham was able to beat them, Wilson was up to the task, keeping the clean sheet intact.

There were nine minutes left in regulation when the lights went out, prompting a 15-minute delay before Beaufort could finish off the win.

The Eagles (4-5-1, 3-4) host Colleton County on Monday.
