HS GSOC: Eagles break in home field with win over JPII

Hilton Head Christian Academy girls soccer maintained its track for a top seed in the SCISA 2A playoffs with 5-2 victory over visiting John Paul II on Tuesday in the first game on the Eagles’ new competition field on their Bluffton campus. 

Keeping the ball on the Golden Warriors’ half of the field for most of the night and taking the advantage of scoring opportunities when they arose.

Abby Peduzzi led HHCA with two goals, while Abigail Scott, Devon Yarde, and Emmie Lentz each scored a goal. Mikayla Kelca had a strong night in goal, preventing JPII from scoring in the first half. 

JPII’s Brenna Frank scored both goals for JPII, and Paige Weniger dished out an assist. Jessica Tilton and Lauren Weniger led the defense, and Trinity Grace Maxwell had multiple great saves in goal. 

HHCA (7-3-1) hosts Beaufort Academy on Thursday, while JPII hosts Beaufort Academy on Friday.
