It’s hard to achieve perfection, but on Tuesday night, Hilton Head Prep baseball did it.
Luke Foley delivered a lights-out performance with 12 strikeouts in a one-hit shutout, and the Dolphins completed an undefeated 22-0 regular season with a 7-0 road win over Porter-Gaud.
The senior pitcher was outstanding to cap off the perfect season, allowing no hits over five innings while racking up a dozen strikeouts. Steele Burd finished the job on the mound, giving up just one hit in a pair of frames to cap off the shutout.
Tommy Stauffer led the offense from the leadoff spot, going 2-for-4 with a double, triple, and RBI while Reese Malon added a double and drove in a run.
HHP (22-0) will await its opponent in the opening round of the SCISA playoffs beginning Monday.
