May River boys soccer bounced back from a tough region loss to dominate rival Bluffton 5-0 on Friday at The Tank, earning a season sweep of the Bluffton Derby.
Colton Beine scored two goals in the win — his 10th and 11th of the season — including the game-winner that came from a Zeke Chappelear assist in the 17th minute.
Freshman Alonza Peña added a goal in the 37th minute to put the Sharks up 2-0 at halftime before Beine cashed in again five minutes into the second half. KJ Pierre made it 4-0 with a header off another Chappelear assist, and Chris Hernandez capped the scoring in the 72nd minute.
May River’s Brayden Garcia made five saves to preserve the clean sheet.
May River (7-3, 4-3) returns to action Tuesday with a key region matchup at Hilton Head High. Bluffton (4-6, 2-6) travels to region leader James Island on April 26.
