HS GLAX: Seahawks rout Rebels in final regular-season tuneup

Hilton Head High girls lacrosse made a strong statement heading into the playoffs by crushing visiting Effingham County 16-4 on Tuesday. 

The Seahawks scored the first 13 goals of the game, including a 10-0 first-half run to build the commanding lead.

Anna Ferrebee and Bailey Olive led the red-hot offense with a hat trick each. Brooke Simons scored two goals with an assist and Ella Christie netted one while helping on two and picking up eight ground balls. 

Hilton Head found contributions all across the lineup as 11 different Seahawks found the back of the net. Megan Rickenbach excelled between the pipes, making four saves in a first-half shutout.

Hilton Head (9-3, 7-2) now awaits its postseason seeding.
