HS TEN: Seahawks handle Sharks, keep pace in region standings

Hilton Head High boys tennis strengthened its hold on the No. 2 spot in Region 7-4A and preserved its shot at grabbing a share of the region lead with a 5-1 win over visiting May River on Monday.

Evan Phillips, Alex Ruckno, Grant Pagatpatan, and Moses Grant all earned singles wins for the Seahawks, while the doubles team of Shane Mason and Stefan Russell also came out on top. 

Said Hernandez was the only winner for the Sharks with a triumph at No. 2 singles.

HHIHS (7-2, 7-1) hosts region rival Lucy Beckham on Tuesday.

May River is back in action Tuesday, hosting Colleton County for a region match.
