Thomas Heyward baseball smacked 12 hits and took advantage of nine John Paul II errors, and Nick Wise shut down the Golden Warriors in a 19-1 road win Monday.
Wise struck out five and allowed one run and four hits with one walk in a five-inning complete game, and the Rebels broke open a 4-0 game with a 10-run fourth before ending it early with five in the fifth.
Jeremy Clemmer was 3-for-4 with an RBI and a pair of runs, and Peyton Bennett went 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs, and two driven in to lead the offensive outburst for THA. Max Hickey had a hit and two RBIs, and Dietrich Shuford, Zane Wilson, Wise, Quillan White, and Dylan Stuckey each had a hit and an RBI.

JPII’s Hayden Jennings struck out 10 over 3 1-3 innings but was hurt by the Golden Warriors’ sloppy defense, resulting in five of his 10 runs being unearned.
Jennings, Peter Hughes, Landry Donoth, and Christian Tilton each had a hit for JPII.
The Rebels (6-5, 5-3) hosts Colleton Prep for a region matchup Thursday.
JPII (3-6, 3-4) travels to Hilton Head Prep on Wednesday.
