Powered by a phenomenal 10-run third inning and a four-hit game from Luke Foley, Hilton Head Prep baseball notched an impressive five-inning 14-2 road win over Beaufort High on Saturday.
Foley shined on offense and defense, going 4-for-4 at the plate with four RBIs while limiting the dangerous Eagle offense to just two runs in four innings on the bump.
“Luke had a heckuva game for us today, ” HHP head coach Chris Wells said. “He did it on the mound and at the plate. I’m just so proud of him.”
Payce Gartner was 2-for-2 while driving in a pair of runs, and Reese Malon added two hits while finishing off the Eagles with a perfect fifth inning on the mound.
“I have so much respect for Beaufort High School baseball over the last 30 years,” Wells said. “They turn out quality players and quality teams year in and year out. To compete with those guys at that level of baseball means a lot for our team.”
Rush Riley led Beaufort High with a two-run homer, driving in both Eagle runs.
