HS GSOC: JPII girls blank Bridges for 4th win in 5 games

John Paul II girls soccer rolled to its fourth win in five games with a 9-0 win over visiting Bridges Prep in a non-region match Thursday.

Taylor Michael initiated the Golden Warriors’ offensive opportunities, scoring her first two goals of the season and dishing out an assist in the first half. Michael wasn’t the only one with multiple goals, as Emma Sauls and Brady Mahoney also tallied two goals apiece. Brenna Frank added a goal, and co-captains Alondra Hurtado and Gin White added a goal and an assist for JPII.

The Golden Warriors prevented the Buccaneers from getting into the box throughout the game, with goalkeeper Trinity Grace Maxwell only needing one save to preserve the clean sheet.

JPII (4-4, 0-3) travels to Beaufort Academy for a region matchup Tuesday.
