Bluffton’s Parker Ray tossed another gem as the Bobcat softball team finished off a two-game sweep of rival Hilton Head High with a 12-0 home win over the Seahawks on Wednesday.
Ray struck out 11 while limiting the Seahawks to two hits and one walk over a five-inning shutout. She needed only 64 pitches, 48 of which were strikes and held Seahawk star and South Carolina commit Reagan Marchant hitless for the second straight game.
The Bobcats spread the offense around, as five different players recorded hits, five drove in runs, and eight scored at least one run.
Alyssa Rose got the scoring going with an RBI double in the first to plate Katie Ryan, and the Bobcats added two more runs in the first and tacked on three more in the second before breaking it open with four in the third.
Rose and Ray each picked up two hits to lead the Bobcats at the plate.
Leah Jackson and Delcie Swift had the only hits for the Seahawks.
Ray compiled 21 strikeouts while allowing only two walks and five hits over nine innings in two shutouts.
