HS BSOC: Dominant Eagles hand Golden Warriors first defeat

Beaufort High boys soccer turned in an impressive performance Friday, blanking previously undefeated John Paul II 7-0 at home.

Anderson Jones scored a hat trick to lead the way for the Eagles, who displayed some deep scoring prowess with five different goal scorers. Chappell Doctor, Rowan Higgins, Colton Phares, and Samuel Marrero each scored a goal.

The Eagles were a step quicker all night, while the Golden Warriors were a step slow after winning an emotional region game against Hilton Head Christian Academy in a penalty shootout a night earlier.

Joe Caprarola made five saves and Warren Gibson added three to combine for the clean sheet behind a strong Beaufort back line.

The Eagles (2-1) open Region 7-4A play at home against Bluffton on Tuesday.

JPII (3-1) hosts Colleton Prep at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
