May River boys lacrosse controlled every aspect of the game Thursday in a 15-1 road win over Beaufort High to open Region 7-4A play.
The Sharks put the pressure on all night with 50 shots on goal, and Rob Gadomski led the attack with six goals and two assists. Hudson Kramer added two goals and two assists, while Ethan Sotiropoulos and Whitt Beebe each had two goals and an assist, and Andrew Dromsky added a pair of goals.
Dave Lavery was 12-of-17 at the dot to help May River maintain control for much of the match. Paired with a strong defensive effort that included six takeaways, Sharks goalie Corbin Wiltse wasn’t asked to do much. Beaufort’s Luke Krieger put one past him in the first quarter, but that was the only goal of the night for the Eagles, and Wiltse needed to make just one save.
May River (2-0, 1-0) travels to Lexington on Saturday.
Beaufort (0-1, 0-1) hosts Lucy Beckham for a region match at 7 p.m. Monday.
