The Eagles, like they have done all season, jumped out to a big lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Region 4 Player of the Year Dior Shelton scored all four of her points in the first quarter to pace a balanced HHCA attack that led 14-4 after one.
The Indians threw double-teams at Shelton the rest of the game, but Molly Smith and Yarde combined to score 14 of the Eagles’ 16 points in the second quarter, propelling them to an 18-point halftime lead.
Smith caught fire in the third quarter, knocking down two three-pointers and a pair of free throws to continue the Eagles’ dominance. Yarde also showed her consistency from the charity stripe, sinking all four of her free-throw attempts in the period.
The Eagles remained steady all four quarters, as Kenzie Buchter scored all six of her points in the final period.
