The Eagles are three wins away from a three-peat. Hilton Head Christian Academy’s girls breezed through the SCISA 2A first round on Friday, riding a first-quarter shutout to a 65-11 drubbing of Dillon Christian at the Sumter Civic Center.
Newly named McDonald’s All-American nominee Dior Shelton led the charge with 15 points, Abby Peduzzi scored 14, and Mackenzie Buchter joined the duo in double figures with 10.

Hilton Head Christian burst out of the blocks on a 17-0 run, completing a mind-blowing third straight quarter without allowing a single point dating back to Tuesday’s second-half shutout of Hilton Head Prep. After Shelton put up eight to pace the offense in the opening quarter, the Eagles cashed in from the foul line, sinking a tremendous 9/10 from the stripe to take a commanding 36-3 lead into the halftime break.
Abby Peduzzi tallied a strong seven points in the third quarter, including a perfect 3/3 at the line to take a 55-6 advantage before the Eagles coasted to the finish line in the fourth.
Hilton Head Christian (21-1, 10-0) faces the Marlboro Academy-Greenwood Christian winner in a quarterfinal matchup Monday at 4 p.m.
