Hilton Head Christian Academy’s boys battled all night long against a strong Bethesda Academy team, but the SCISA Region 4-leading Blazers rallied in the final minutes for a hard-fought 56-46 victory.
Quinn Ryan’s 13 points and Isaiah Anderson’s 12 led the Eagles to a 38-35 lead to start the 4th quarter. HHCA’s success continued into the fourth quarter behind two key three-pointers from Ryan and Brady Bragenstose, giving the Eagles a three-point lead with four minutes to play.
However, the Blazers’ explosive offense came to life in the final period. Antjuan McKay scored six of his 18 points in the fourth to end the Eagles’ hopes of an upset. Donte Dorman added 13 points, and Caleb Dillon had 10 for Bethesda.
Hilton Head Christian (7-11,4-7) will host Hilton Head Prep on Tuesday night at Island Rec Center.
