Hilton Head Prep’s boys suffered a second-half collapse Tuesday against Bethesda Academy, surrendering a 17-point halftime lead to the Blazers in a 52-48 defeat and snapping a six-game win streak.
The Dolphins were in full control during the first half, surging ahead 35-18 on the strength of seven three-pointers. But the Blazers adjusted after halftime, pressuring the Prep offense and forcing a flurry of mistakes on their way to a remarkable come-from-behind win. Jerry Faulkner’s high-powered offense was held to just 13 points in the second half as the Dolphins let a commanding lead slip away.
