MBB: Balanced Salk men bounce Bobcats

The USC Salkehatchie men’s basketball team ran its record to 3-0 with a 90-72 home win over East Georgia State on Tuesday in Walterboro.

DiShon Daniels scored 17 points and Cincere Scott added 14 off the bench to go with four boards, four assists, and three steals to power the Indians, who led by 16 at halftime and held off any chance at a Bobcat comeback.

Daniels was an efficient 7-of-10 from the floor, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range, as the Indians shot a robust 50.7 percent overall and went 13-of-33 from long range.

DJ Sinkler added 12 points, five rebounds, and five assists for Salk, while Kharye Cayne collected 10 points, nine boards, and seven blocks in another dominant performance protecting the rim. PJ Walker dished out eight assists for the Indians.

USC Salk (3-0) travels to Rome, Georgia, to face Georgia Highlands on Friday.
