HSBBB: McCracken drops 24 as Seahawks soar past OCA

Hilton Head High’s boys started their season with a quality road win Friday, beating Oceanside Collegiate 58-47. 

Newcomer Will McCracken poured in 24 points to lead the way for the Seahawks, who showed solid balance and depth around the Cincinnati-area transfer who has committed to UNC Wilmington.

Adam Clark scored seven points, and Jaylen Sneed, Liam Hutchins, Sam Summa, and Karyce Campbell each added six for HHIHS.

The Seahawks got out to a quick start and led 20-13 after one quarter before extending the advantage to 38-25 at halftime. The lead grew to 50-33 going to the fourth quarter before the Landsharks chipped away somewhat.

HHIHS (1-0) hosts Benedictine (Ga.) at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
