Beaufort High girls tennis opened the season with a hard-fought 4-2 win over region rival Bluffton on Tuesday.
The Bobcats claimed victories at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, but the Eagles showcased their depth to sweep the remaining three singles courts and win at No. 2 doubles to clinch the victory.
The Eagles (1-0, 1-0) travel to Hilton Head Prep for a tough matchup Thursday, while the Bobcats (0-1) travel to Hilton Head High on the same day.
